Welcome to The Gambia National Data Archive (GNADA)
Survey and Census micro- data are invaluable resources for statisticians, researchers and policy analysts. These are important assets that need to be manage in a way that encourages their use while at the same time protecting the privacy of the respondents. Under the Statistics Act of 2005 one of the main functions of the Gambian Bureau of Statistics is the collection and dissemination of statistical data as well as the compiling and dissemination of statistical estimates. The Gambia National Data Archive provide a catalogue that contains a list of surveys documented by the Bureau and other National Departments within the National Statistical System such as The Department of Agriculture, The Department of Health, The Woman’s Bureau, The Education Department and The Department of Water Resources and Fisheries. Also included in the catalogue are surveys conducted jointly between National Departments and international agencies such as UNICEF and Sahel. The catalogue facilitates the dissemination of information about the listed surveys and, where appropriate, allows for the dissemination of the data. The catalogue provides the public with detailed metadata and other publicly available material. All survey data presented in the catalogue are prepared according to international standards for survey data archiving. This standardization ensures that data is prepared and archived in a format that will ensure long term preservation, comparability, and usability of the data |
